What about holds?
Check by office
Each office has its own holds that they may place on students’ records. Examples of holds could be for missing paperwork, parking fines or a balance still needing to be paid on your bill (among other things).
If you have a financial hold on your account, this was placed by the student accounts office, not the financial aid office. However, if you have questions about your hold you may contact the student accounts office and may be directed to our office for potential funding. Having a hold on your account will prohibit you from scheduling classes.
Please be diligent and check your status on the MyShip portal now to see if you do have a hold and get it taken care of right away through the office that placed the particular hold.

Have you used your FAFSA PIN since May of last year?
If not, then students will need to convert their PIN to a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID and Password at https://fsaid.ed.gov/. Each student will need to convert his or her PIN to this FSA ID and password in order to sign FAFSAs from here on out.
If you are required to file the FAFSA with a parent, your parent must also convert their PIN to an FSA ID and password in order to sign your form.
Each person must use their individual email address to convert the PIN and receive a FSA ID. A parent cannot use the student’s email and the student cannot use the parent’s email, otherwise the form will reject the application.
Please be diligent when completing these forms with proper, individual, correct information as the form requires.
Please note: The FSA ID is replacing your current PIN — you will never use your PIN again once you convert it to the FSA ID — please be sure to keep this handy as you will need it every year to apply for financial aid.
