Shippensburg University’s Student Government brought club representatives together Wednesday to introduce a new way for students’ voices to be heard.
In Grove Hall Room 101, at 9:30 p.m., representatives from every club filed in, with a few representatives for Student Government sitting in front. Jordan Back, director of internal affairs of student government, said the club representatives were all now part of the House of Representatives.
Back said every three weeks a member from each organization would attend a meeting with a typed up report of what the club has been doing.
Back added that Student Government wanted a direct line of communication with the student groups.
“Student Government wants to hear your voice,” Back said.
Traci Moyer, president of Student Government, said this was a way for student leaders to take their leadership position “a step further.”
Student groups can send anyone to the meetings for now, but next semester it has to be the same person for each meeting, Moyer said.
