Shippensburg University and Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) administrators thanked students for their patience during the strike and said operations will return to normal.
“Our focus now is on successfully completing the fall semester,” said SU President George “Jody” Harpster, in an email on Oct. 25. “We are finalizing a plan for making up missed class time.”
Harpster said administrators do not expect any delays in finishing the semester on time, nor do they anticipate the Dec. 16 and 17 graduation ceremonies to be changed.
PASSHE Chancellor Frank Brogan and Board of Governors Chairwoman Cynthia D. Shapira sent a joint message to the state system community, saying the No. 1 goal is for students to finish the semester strong.
“As we look to the days and months ahead, let us remember that the state system and our universities are stronger when we stand together,” Brogan and Shapira said.
“I am genuine in my appreciation for your commitment to Shippensburg University,” Harpster said. “We have a strong history of pulling together in difficult times to solve problems.”
