As possibly the most heated election in our memory of history has come to a close, some are left jumping for joy and others are left with heavy hearts.
Regardless of what the results could have been this year, half of the country would be happy and half of the country would be hurt.
As we go on with everyday life, we have to remember that there is no changing the results.
Regardless of political views, we must be accepting and move on.
After months and months of hearing people name-call, belittle and end friendships over political views, we can only hope that things will begin to get back to normal.
Those who voted for Hillary Clinton have had time to mourn, just as those who voted for Donald Trump have had time to celebrate. It is now time to stop both and move on.
Life goes back to normal, students still attend class, we still go to work and life goes on as it did before last Tuesday.
One thing we should be able to appreciate is how historical this election is.
There is no doubt that even Trump supporters were surprised when the results came out. Even though she did not come out on top, Clinton was the first woman to be nominated by a major party.
Though there are a lot of differences still and a lot of people left unhappy, acting like adults and moving on from it is the only thing to do.
Whether you agree with it or not, the results are final, and they are not going to change.
Just remember, there are people around you that you might not even know who voted for Trump and by using the rhetoric I have seen all over social media, you could be truly hurting someone without even realizing it.
