Individual breaks into university van
An individual went to the Hoffman Mills State Vehicle parking area to retrieve an SU Student Association van on Jan. 2 when they discovered a window on the passenger door of their vehicle had been shattered.
A broken beer bottle was found at the scene and is believed to have been what caused the damage to the vehicle. It was discovered upon further examination that the vehicle’s glove box had been forced open.
The cost to repair the broken window was approximately $450 and will be paid for by SU Student Services.
McCune Hall resident charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
Marquise Hayden-Lee Camel, 18, of McCune Hall was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an incident that occurred on Thursday.
University police were called to Camel’s residence hall to assist residence staff with an odor of burnt marijuana.
Further investigation led the officers to Camel’s room where a search produced items of drug paraphernalia. A criminal complaint was later filed charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Seavers Hall resident charged with underage drinking
Rafael A. Sanchez-Ramos, 20, of Seavers Hall was charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred on Thursday.
University police were dispatched to the R-3 parking lot following reports that an intoxicated male had fallen and struck his head, causing injury to himself.
Officers arrived at the scene and identified the individual as Sanchez-Ramos. It was verified that he had a large bruise above his left eye as a result of the fall. Sanchez-Ramos was transported to Chambersburg Hospital for further evaluation and treatment due to his physical condition. A citation was later filed charging him with underage drinking.
Kieffer Hall resident charged with underage drinking
Malakai Joseph Curtis, 18, of Kieffer Hall was charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred on Friday.
Officers were called to Curtis’ residence hall to assist residence hall staff with an intoxicated male student who had been vomiting and been in need of medical attention.
Officers arrived at the scene and identified the individual as Curtis, who was visibly intoxicated and admitted to consuming alcohol. He was given a portable breath test, which revealed positive signs of alcohol consumption.
Curtis was released to his room after it had been determined that no medical assistance would be necessary. A citation was later filed charging him with underage drinking.
Non-student visitor charged with underage drinking
Franklin L. Anderson, 20, a non-student visitor of Rocky Ridge, Maryland, was charged with underage drinking on Sunday.
Anderson was found sleeping in a vehicle in the C-4 commuter parking lot and was found to be intoxicated. He said he was waiting for a friend that was inside Kieffer Hall. Anderson’s friend was located inside the residence hall by university police and was requested to come out to the vehicle. Anderson was turned over to his friend and reentered into the residence hall.
A citation was later filed charging Anderson with underage drinking.
Television stolen from Grove Hall
A staff member from the college of business notified university police that a television was stolen from Grove Hall Friday.
The television was stolen along with a mounting bracket and was believed to have been stolen overnight between Thursday and Friday. It is valued at approximately $877 and the cost to replace the missing bracket is approximately $74. The investigation is ongoing.
McCune Hall resident charged with underage drinking
Caleb Charles Truslow, 19, of McCune Hall was charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred Saturday.
University police were patrolling the L-2 lot when they discovered a Ford F-250 with a female and male sleeping inside.
Truslow was believed to have been intoxicated and was transported and released back at his residence hall. A citation was issued charging Truslow with underage drinking.
Harley Hall residents charged with underage drinking
Taylore Chandler, 20, and Kennedy Chandler, 18, of Harley Hall were charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred Sunday.
University police were on routine patrol when they discovered the two women walking through the parking lot in possession of alcohol.
They were released at the scene and both received citations charging them with underage drinking.
Non-student visitor charged with underage drinking
Samantha Lynn Cavanaugh, 19, a non-student of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, was charged with underage drinking on Sunday.
University police were called to Seavers Hall to assist residence hall staff with an intoxicated female.
Police found Cavanaugh in possession of alcohol and also detected alcohol in her system.
She was later released to her friend and charged with underage drinking.
