SU students, non-student visitor charged with underage drinking
Joseph F. Demarco, 18, of McCune Hall, Jacob S. Pollock, 18, of Seavers Hall and Alexandra P. Albert, 20, of Clear Spring, Maryland, were charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred March 18.
Albert was observed by university police walking near Old Main with the assistance of Demarco and Pollock. All three showed signs of intoxication and were given portable breath tests confirming all three individuals’ consumption of alcohol.
Due to her condition, Albert was transported to Chambersburg Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. All three individuals were cited and charged with underage drinking.
Theft reported in the C-7 commuter parking lot
Sarah Strause of Leesport, Pennsylvania, came to the university police on March 20 to report a theft from her vehicle.
Strause’s vehicle was parked in the C-7 commuter parking lot when she discovered the front hood ornament of her 2007 BMW sedan had been stolen.
The missing ornament is valued at approximately $50 and the investigation is ongoing.
Vehicle damage reported in the L-1 storage parking lot
Briana Bembry of Naugle Hall came to the university police department on March 21 to report tampering to her vehicle.
Bembry’s vehicle was parked in the L-1 storage parking lot when she discovered someone had poured an unknown liquid onto the driver’s door of her 2003 Hyundai Sonata sometime from March 19–21.
The liquid did not appear to cause any permanent damage and should be able to be washed off of the vehicle. The only damages were the cost of the car wash.
Burglary attempted at Seth Grove Stadium
A staff member with the athletics department reported damage to the steel entry doors for the training room at Seth Grove Stadium on March 23.
The doors to the training room appeared as if someone attempted to force open the doors, causing them to be bent inward at the bottom of the doors.
The damage is believed to have occurred between 7:30 p.m. on March 22 and noon on March 23.
Nothing was found to be missing or disturbed inside the training room and it is believed the perpetrators were unsuccessful in gaining entry to the room.
The doors were repaired by the locksmith’s office. No damage estimate is available at this time.
Hit and run reported in the R-3 resident parking lot
Emilie L. McMath of Naugle Hall came to the university police on March 22 to report damage done to her 2012 Nissan Sentra.
McMath said her vehicle was parked in the R-3 resident parking lot off of Adams Drive when she discovered damage to the right front bumper of the vehicle.
Officers checked the vehicle and found moderate damage to the right front bumper with damage estimated to be about $1,500.
The incident remains under investigation and a possible suspect has been observed on surveillance footage of the area. Charges are pending, depending on if the striking vehicle is located and the operator is identified.
Non-student visitor charged with underage drinking
Daniel James Todd, 20, of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, was charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred March 25.
University police were dispatched to the area of Kriner Hall after receiving reports of a fight between two individuals. As officers arrived at the scene, Todd fled on foot and was taken into custody in the area of Henderson Gymnasium.
Todd was found to be intoxicated and a portable breath test confirmed alcohol consumption. The officers determined Todd had gotten into an altercation with a friend who was trying to escort Todd due to his intoxicated condition.
Due to Todd’s level of intoxication and minor injuries acquired during the fight, he was transported to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment.
A citation was later filed charging Todd with underage drinking.
Lackhove Hall resident, non-student visitor charged with underage drinking
Cassandra J. Martisofski, 20, of Lackhove Hall, and Mary M. Flicker, 19, of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, were charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred March 26.
Officers were on routine patrol in the area of Old Main Drive when they observed Flicker lying in the grass with Martisofski kneeling on the ground beside her. The officers stopped to check on the welfare of the two individuals and found that both were intoxicated.
Both individuals admitted to consuming alcohol and portable breath tests confirmed the presence of alcohol in their systems.
Both individuals were offered rides home but refused. They were released at the scene after receiving citations for underage drinking.
Non-student visitor charged with simple assault, harassment
Troy A. Franklin, Jr., of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was charged with harassment in connection with an incident that occurred March 24.
An SU student reported he was playing basketball with several other individuals in the student recreation building when a physical altercation occurred and one of the other males punched the student in the mouth twice.
After an investigation, the man who punched the student was identified as Franklin. Franklin had left the area prior to the arrival of the police due to a delay in reporting the incident.
A citation was later filed charging Franklin with harassment.
