Kieffer Hall resident charged with possession of marijuana & drug paraphernalia
Tanner O. Kaurudar, 21, of Kieffer Hall, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in connection with an incident that occurred on Jan. 29.
Officers were patrolling the G-1 parking lot when they observed Kaurudar’s vehicle parked in the lot, running with the headlights on. The officers checked the remainder of the lot, and when they came back to Kaurudar’s vehicle it was still running — however, the headlights were now turned off. The officers stopped to check on Kaurudar’s welfare to see if he needed any assistance.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. The vehicle was searched and a small amount of marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia were found inside. A criminal complaint was filed against Kaurudar charging him with the offenses listed above.
Burglary/theft reported in Harley Hall
Kaitlyn Niski and Erica Franta, of Harley Hall, reported missing items from their room on Jan. 21.
It was reported that two X-Box controllers had been taken from the room sometime over the winter break. The value of the missing controllers is approximately $80.
The incident is still under investigation.
Failure to report accident
A trash truck driver from Chambersburg Waste Paper came to the university police to report a reckless driver on campus on Jan. 15.
The driver reported that he observed the driver of a silver Lexus strike the curb along Lancaster Drive and then strike a post and chain near the entrance to the F/S-11 parking lot behind Heiges Field House.
Officers went to the scene and found the silver Lexus parked in the parking lot with no driver present. The vehicle had sustained disabling damage to the passenger side front wheel and was towed from the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was later identified as Elias O. Fryer, 19, of Lackhove Hall.
Fryer was cited for accidents involving damage to unattended property and windshield obstructions for not clearing his windshield prior to operating the vehicle.
Lackhove Hall resident charged with underage drinking
Lee Harrison Cook III, 19, of Lackhove Hall, was charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred on Feb. 2 in the area of Adams Drive and the Cora I. Grove Spiritual Center.
SU officers patrolling the area observed Cook, who appeared to be intoxicated, staggering while he walked and also noticed that he was covered in mud.
Cook showed obvious signs of intoxication, admitted to consuming alcohol and was given a portable breath test which showed positive results for the presence of alcohol in his system.
Due to Cook’s condition, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene and he was transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
A citation was later filed charging Cook with underage drinking.
Lackhove Hall resident charged with underage drinking
Eric C. Flach, 18, of Lackhove Hall, was charged with underage drinking, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that occurred on Feb. 3 in the Lackhove Hall TV room.
Flach was found in the TV room in a highly intoxicated condition and was detained by the responding SU police officers.
Flach was uncooperative throughout the course of the incident, resulting in him being transported to the Cumberland County Booking Center where he was processed and released to the prison staff.
Citations were filed charging Flach with the above listed offenses.
Lackhove Hall resident charged with underage drinking
Brianna N. Woodworth, 18, of Lackhove Hall, was charged with underage drinking and public drunkenness in connection with an incident that occurred on Feb. 4 in Lackhove Hall.
University police were dispatched to the third floor of Lackhove Hall to assist the residence hall staff with a highly intoxicated female who had passed out in the hallway and may need medical assistance.
Officers arrived and identified the female in question as Woodworth. Woodworth was highly intoxicated at that time and an ambulance was dispatched to transport her to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Citations were later filed charging Woodworth with underage drinking and public drunkenness.
Seavers Hall resident charged with underage drinking
Derek Christopher Plank Jr., 20, of Seavers Hall, was charged with underage drinking in connection with an incident that occurred on Feb. 11 in the area of Lancaster Drive near McCune Hall.
An SU police officer observed Plank staggering along the roadway and believed that he was intoxicated.
The officer stopped Plank to check on his welfare. Plank showed obvious signs of intoxication, admitted to consuming alcohol and was given a portable breath test which showed positive results for the presence of alcohol in his system.
Due to Plank’s condition, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene and he was transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
A citation was later filed charging Plank with underage drinking.
