Through various scholarship programs, the PASSHE Foundation supports all 14 Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Universities by providing scholarships to their students. To learn more about these scholarship opportunities available to you as a Shippensburg University student, please visit the PASSHE Foundation Scholarship website.
Students will find detailed information about eligibility requirements and award amounts. Carefully review each posting for application instructions. The deadline to apply is listed individually in each scholarship posting. Please remember to file FAFSA for 2020-2021 in order to determine need.
Scholarships for Junior & Senior level students (earned 60 or more credits):
Ø AT&T STEM award – Available for students pursuing a degree in a STEM related major with the intention of working in the computer technology, advanced manufacturing or energy related fields. Must be a resident of Pennsylvania. Must have earned 60 or more credits and a 3.0 or higher GPA and must demonstrate financial need based on FAFSA.
Ø Harry and Lorraine Ausprich Endowed Scholarship for the Arts – Applicant must be a full-time junior or senior majoring in visual or performing arts. Applicants must have earned 60 or more credits with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Ø Dr. Peter H. Garland Endowed Scholarship Fund – Available for full-time junior or senior students who are majoring in education or a human services field. Must have earned 60 or more credits, have 3.0 or higher GPA and demonstrate financial need.
Ø Geisinger Scholarship for Rising Juniors – Available for rising juniors who are pursuing a degree in a field that benefits the health care industry including, but not limited to: allied health, nursing, health science, biology, pre-medicine, pre-physician assistant, business, criminal justice, marketing, information technology, analytics or human resources. Must have earned 60 or more credits and a 3.0 or higher GPA and must demonstrate financial need based on the FAFSA.
Ø Giant Company Student Success Scholarship – (New for 2020-21) First preference given to The Giant Company team members and their dependents. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at one of the 14 State System universities. Must be pursuing a degree in a business program or any other program which could benefit the retail grocery industry. Must be a rising junior by August 2020 who has earned 60 credits with a GPA of 3.0 or greater
Ø William D. Greenlee Scholarship – Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at one of the 14 Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education universities majoring in political science, journalism or communications. Applicant must reside in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Northumberland, Perry or York counties. Applicants must have earned 60 credits or more with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Demonstrated financial need based on standard need analysis from the FAFSA.
Ø Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Hospitality Scholarship – Available for students who are residents of Pennsylvania. Have a major in a hospitality, marketing, human resources, information technology, criminal justice or any other program which would benefit the hospitality industry. Earned and passed a minimum of 30 college credits or a maximum of 90 credits. Show academic promise with a 3.0 GPA or better.
Ø Highmark Healthcare Scholarship for Rising Juniors – Must be pursuing a degree in the healthcare profession such as: informatics, computer science, information technology; allied health or healthcare field such as nursing, pre-physician assistant, pre-medicine, biology, health science, physical therapy. Must be a rising junior for the fall 2020 semester who has earned 60 credits with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by FAFSA.
Ø PPL Community Scholarship Award – Must be full-time student who has earned 60 or more credits. Must reside in one of the following Pennsylvania counties (PPL's service area): Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Clinton, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland, Perry, Pike, Schuylkill, Snyder, Susquehanna, Union, Wayne, Wyoming and York. Must show academic promise - GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must have demonstrated financial need. Must be majoring in energy and related fields such as STEM and Business Management.
Ø PSECU Credit Union Industry Scholarship – Must be a full-time student at one of the 14 State System universities with a major in finance, business, marketing, human resources, information technology, communications, or criminal justice. Must be a rising junior or senior and completed 60 credits or more at time of application. Must be a resident of Pennsylvania. Must show academic promise with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by FAFSA.
Ø PSECU Scholarship for CCP Students Transferring to PA State System @ Center City – Must have earned an AA or AS degree from the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP). Must be a CCP transfer student in good standing at Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education @ Center City pursuing first-time baccalaureate degree. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must have demonstrated financial need.
Ø The Stephen and Sandy Sheller Scholarship – Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students at one of the 14 Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (State System) universities pursuing an undergraduate degree leading to a career in law, social services or art therapy. Applicants must be a junior for the fall 2020 semester and earned 60 or more credits university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must demonstrate financial need based on the FAFSA.
Ø Support Students Success. A Scholarship to Improve Persistence and Degree Completion –

Available to All State System Students – see individual listing for requirements:
Ø Dr. Lou Bohl-Fabian Memorial Fund – Funding for graduate students who are involved in studies focused on research, the environment/outdoors, political science or the arts. Must have a 3.5+ GPA.
Ø Fitz Dixon Memorial Scholarship – Provides financial assistance to an undergraduate or graduate student who has demonstrated academic excellence, voluntary service within the community at home and at their university, and financial need as determined by their FAFSA applications. Undergraduate student applicants must have passed 45 credits at a State System university with at least a 3.0 GPA. Graduate student applicants must have passed at least nine (9) credits at a State System university with at least a 3.5 GPA.
Ø M&T Bank Scholarship/M&T Endowed Scholarship – Applicants must show academic promise by having a 3.0+ GPA; must reside in Cumberland, Dauphin or Franklin counties and demonstrate financial need.
Ø PA State System Board of Governors Chair, Guido M. Pichini, Endowed Scholarship Fund –
Available for students who have demonstrated leadership aspirations at the university or in the community. Must have at least a 3.2 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
Ø PSECU International Education Scholarship/PSECU Endowed Scholarship – Applicants must be participating in an institutionally approved overseas program. Must be a resident of Pennsylvania and eligible for the Pell or PHEAA grant programs.
Ø PSECU Scholarship for Preparing State System Students for Lives of Achievement and Civic Engagement – provide funding for students participating in internship programs offered by The Washington Center in Washington, D.C. There is no application for this award.
Ø Quido and Anna Pichini Merit Scholarship – Available for a full-time student (including incoming freshmen) who have a GPA of 3.5 or better and completed voluntary service in his or her university, high school or community.
