DID YOU KNOW ? ? ? ? ? ?
February is . . . Financial Aid Awareness Month!
This is a message from the Shippensburg University Financial Aid Office.
February is a great time for students to file the 2021-22 FAFSA. If students need assistance, please contact the SU Financial Aid Office via email at finaid@ship.edu.
Students can login to their federal student aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov, or on the myStudentAid app (available on iOS and Android) with their FSA ID and password. Students should complete the information on their form, save it and then have a parent login with their FSA ID and password to complete their information. The financial aid office highly recommends that students should use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to link their 2019 tax data directly from the IRS to their FAFSA. Once their FAFSA is complete, students should apply electronic signatures and submit the application.
To get a sneak peek at their eligibility for federal grants and loans, students should be sure to check the confirmation page and email (to the listed email account on the FAFSA) to view FAFSA results. For students who are Pennsylvania residents, the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will notify students by email with their state grant award eligibility as well!
Want to apply for FREE MONEY? Apply for Scholarships! The SU Financial Aid Office encourages students to apply for Shippensburg University Foundation scholarships AND Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Foundation Scholarships (online at ship.edu/paying/scholarships-loans/scholarships/).
If new or returning students have financial aid questions, a great resource is Shippensburg University’s Financial Aid Reference and Resource Guide available online at ship.edu/globalassets/financial-aid/final_fa_roadmap_0920_rev.pdf.
The financial aid main office is located in Old Main Room 101. For more information or to ask questions about financial aid, contact the office at finaid@ship.edu or by calling (717) 477-1131
And since it’s February…students, be sure to show the financial aid office some love.
