“It’s A Hoedown” hosted by Lackhove Hall, was a night filled with line dancing, country karaoke and more.

A build-your-own mac and cheese bar, along with desserts and beverages, were also provided at the event. The event welcomed attendees at 9 p.m. with “Cotton-Eyed Joe” blasting through the CUB MPR speakers. In true country fashion, cornhole boards were set up for people to team up and play.

There was a raffle for prizes, presented by Xfinity and the event’s student coordinators. Prizes included a Squishmallow, baskets of candy and a RokuTV. During the line dancing portion of the event, the “Cotton-Eyed Joe” was played three times, along with “Cupid Shuffle,” the “Wobble”, and a few more popular line dances.

The contest portion of the night allowed attendees to compete in categories such as best country outfit, best single country karaoke performance and best pig call. Contestants were judged based on a 10-point scale across a panel of three judges, who were all Lackhove RAs. In the karaoke contest, songs such as “Your Man” and “Gunpowder & Lead” were performed.
