Social media has inflated an aesthetic for people who work out and go to the gym. It is inspiring that clothes, accessories and hairstyles can motivate people to be healthy. I appreciate when social media promotes encouraging and positive habits rather than consistently spreading negativity. Within our generation, involvement in fitness has grown exponentially. Due to this, people have come to the conclusion that in order to perform the best of their ability, they should make themselves feel as confident as possible.
In terms of getting ready, people have a daily routine. Working out is the beneficial part of any form of fitness; however, it is important to feel your best before and after so the confidence remains. Though the aftermath stems from what you do in the gym, an enormous part of what happens during any fitness comes from the way you prepare yourself. The best way to start your day is a mixture of fashion and physical activity.
There are several brands that make going to the gym more satisfying and appealing with what can be worn. For example, White Fox Boutique, Gymshark, Nike, Alo and Lululemon are popular. When you look good, you feel good. The best part about these brands is that they are perfect for all genders and provide options for anybody and everybody.
Each of these brands offer activewear that is both comfortable and flattering. On the basis of what they provide, all brands sell matching sets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, biker shorts, leggings, bodysuits, sports bras and tank tops that are extremely high quality. Not only do they function as clothing pieces, but they instill a sense of composure to an appearance.
On social media apps like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, people post photos and videos of themselves before, during and after their fitness routines in their outfits. A growing trend of fitness has been Pilates. Pilates consists of intense physical and mental exercise, and it's documented on social media primarily because it is incredibly healing. When people do Pilates, they often wear outfits to accentuate their bodies for a more validating and satisfying workout. Women primarily wear outfits like bodysuits and leg warmers, which is casual, but it is still very captivating.
Men often go to the gym in matching sets that include shorts, a tank top and a “pump-cover,” which is often a sweatshirt. The look of tight underclothes and oversized cover ups has become prevalent, and this provides incentive to have a better workout. I enjoy it when I see people who care about themselves and put effort into their appearance, because it shows that they hold a sense of confidence. When people feel confident within themselves, there’s no better feeling.
Working out doesn’t have to include going to your local gym, a spin class, Pilates, biking or weightlifting. Fitness can be accomplished from doing sit-ups in your bedroom, walking around your neighborhood or doing a dance routine from YouTube on your television. Doing physical activity is not linear, and there are several ways to accomplish the feeling of being productive without getting a membership or paying for a workout.
By slicking your hair into a ponytail, putting on a soft makeup look, keeping dainty jewelry on and wearing your favorite outfit, almost anything can feel like fitness. The same idea can be implemented if you’d rather wear a matching set with your new shoes and weightlifting belt. As previously mentioned, this idea has been graciously spread amongst social media. It’s important for others to feel happy in their skin and get their bodies moving. Not only does it excite people on the basis of what they look like, but it also assists in a healthier mental state.
There are plenty of aesthetics that fashion can create for everybody. The “fitness” aesthetic is one of the most pleasing in the eyes of society because of the radiating self-fulfillment that comes from it. Instead of working out in something that doesn’t make you feel great, try something new. Invest in a new pair of biker shorts. Get the New Balances. Put your hair in a bubble braid. Buy a new oversized Nike athletic shirt. Anything can help!
By proving to yourself that you can feel amazing while working your body out, it instills a craving for a physical routine. The need to constantly improve on what you’re looking for can be found within the manifestation of appearance. Though the physical activity aspect is a choice, the aesthetic is still gratifying. What a wonderful life to be a part of something so positive, healthy and accomplishing.
Fashion is everywhere. It’s along the streets, studios, schools, offices, screens and gyms. Whatever your interests are, there’s an aesthetic for it, and each and every aesthetic is just as pleasing as the other. I encourage those of you who love physical activity to try to implement a fashionable take on your everyday whereabouts. I guarantee you’ll set the bar high.
