Shippensburg University’s Career Center held its Job and Internship Fair on Oct. 4.
With over 120 businesses and organizations represented, students were invited to meet recruiters set up in ShipRec and discuss career opportunities.
Some of the most known employers at the event included WebFX, Volvo Group North America, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Bravo Group, Deloitte and many more.
Students were encouraged to bring their resumes to give to employers. They were also encouraged to wear professional attire. While in their business clothes, students could also receive a professional headshot after entering, which could then be used as a profile photo for students’ LinkedIn profiles.
At the fair, students were encouraged to wear nametags and list their majors.
The companies at the fair were geared toward several majors and interests. From business and marketing to public relations to engineering and more, the Job and Internship Fair had a variety of opportunities across all fields of interest.
Many employers at the job fair were looking for students to hire for spring and summer internships, while others were looking for future hires for their companies or businesses. By talking to the businesses, students could learn more about the companies and what they are looking for in an employee.
During the week leading up to the Job and Internship Fair, the Career Center held several events to help students prepare, like their Resumania event. To find more events by the Career Center, follow @shipcareer on Instagram.
