Shippensburg University’s football team played a close game on Saturday against Shepherd. Shippensburg, with an overall record of 1-3 before the game, but 1-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), fought hard to stay in the game down to the last seconds. Ending the game at 30-23 in Shepherd’s favor, Shepherd continued its 10-year win streak against the Raiders leaving them 1-4 for the season.

Shippensburg University’s field hockey team picked up two home wins this past week, with the No. 2-ranked Raiders beating No. 8 Millersville 1-0 on Tuesday before picking up a nonconference victory over Frostburg State 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Shippensburg football got out to a 7-0 lead on their first drive on the road against IUP this past Saturday but didn’t score again until the 4th quarter in a 49-14 loss. The Raiders’ defense held quite strong early in the contest, only trailing 14-7 at the half, but a 21-point 3rd quarter from the Crimson Hawks put the game out of reach.
