If you liked “The Housemaid,” you’re going to love “Verity” by Colleen Hoover. Despite Hoover being a controversial author, she completely delivers with this novel. I often read Hoover’s books whenever I am in a book slump and cannot find the motivation to read anything.

On Nov. 2, the Shippensburg University Brass Ensemble held its annual Fall concert in Old Main Chapel. All it takes for me to fall in love with a book is a good government corruption plot with a violent, evil leader and a female heroine who falls in love. I loved “Legend” by Marie Lu because of this.
