FX turns vampire genre on its head

We are all too familiar with vampires and zombies in movies and on TV these days. Many people grow weary of these topics, believing they are too cliché. This is what some, including myself, were afraid of when TV spots for “The Strain” started appearing at the beginning of the summer.

The rain, heat and humidity did not keep the beards at bay on Saturday. More than 150 people showed up for Shippensburg’s Bearding Man at The Thought Lot.

Live at Luhrs: Brian Regan

Luhrs Performing Arts center was packed to the seams when Brian Regan came to town on Friday, May 2. People of all ages could be seen in the audience– children, college students and middle aged audience members gathered to listen to the popular comedian.

Netflix Picks: Texas Chainsaw 3D’

How would you feel, if you learned that you are related to the infamous serial killer “Leatherface?” Heather Miller (played by Alexandra Daddario) received an envelope telling her that she inherited a residence in Texas by her grandmother who recently died, which led to Heather being told, by her caretakers, that her real parents died when she was a baby.

Album Review: “We’re All Right” by Shin High Foxes

The Shin High Foxes are a local indie/rock band with punk influences that help them create a unique blend of music only seen in Shippensburg, Pa., and the surrounding areas. “We’re All Alright,” the band’s first EP (extended play) will be releasing at the end of May, but we snagged an advanced copy to give you a sneak peak. The album starts off with a musical prelude, which I found a bit boring, not knowing what to expect.

Student exhibit turns text into art

Ryan Palmer’s “Untitled Universe” exhibit opened in the Huber Art Center’s Brindle Student Gallery on April 14.The art on display is digital fine art prints. Palmer majors in art and will be graduating this May.
