The Shippensburg University volleyball team traveled to Erie this past weekend to battle against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rivals Mercyhurst University and Gannon University.

Last year, when the Shippensburg University football team traveled to East Stroudsburg University to face the Warriors, madness ensued. The game turned into a five-overtime thriller, with the Raiders emerging victorious, 69–67.

Start Him: Travis Benjamin, WR Chargers Keenan Allen is out for the season after tearing his ACL and Benjamin had a huge first game as the Chargers’ No.1 receiver, gaining over 100 yards and two touchdowns.

Deane earns player of the week honors

“It’s awesome. It really shows how I prepped over the offseason and how we’ve grown as a team,” said Shippensburg University kicker and punter Billy Deane on his second consecutive week of receiving the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Special Teams Player of the Week.

Gannon pushes past Red Raiders, 24-20

The Shippensburg University football team got off to a great start against Gannon University, putting 14 points up in the first quarter before being held in check the rest of the way in a 24–20 loss at Seth Grove Stadium.

Wentz makes regular-season debut

“I was laying in the middle of a cornfield hunting geese when I got the call,” said Carson Wentz during a press conference on Sept. 5. The call was when he was named the starting quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Raiders sting Yellow Jackets 16-9, earn 500th win

It was not pretty, but in the end the Shippensburg University football team got the best of American International College, stinging the Yellow Jackets, 16-9. The win marked SU’s 500th in school history. The Raiders started playing football in 1891.

With spring practices a thing of the past, the Shippensburg University football team has come into the 2016 fall camp with energy and determination to improve on last year’s 8-3 campaign.

Former Raider Kuhn signs with Saints

They say all good things must come to an end.   The phrase is now true for former Shippensburg University star running back John Kuhn, who signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints on August 5.

SU football star Grimes signs with Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed former Shippensburg University football star, Brent Grimes, to a two-year deal worth about $16.5 million on March 11, shortly after free agency began. Grimes quickly found a home in Tampa Bay after being cut from his former team, the Miami Dolphins. He joins an already changed defensive secondary that includes cornerback Jonathan Banks, cornerback Josh Robinson, Alterraun Verner and a great selection of draft picks in a draft class ripe with defensive talent.
