MSA’s “Feed a Friend” is back

The annual Feed-A-Friend food drive is here again, students of the African American Organization (AFRO-AM) are working to collect donations of food and money for families to enjoy this Thanksgiving.

Sociology class aims to help homeless people

Students from professor Phillip Broyles sociology senior seminar class have placed donation boxes throughout campus for “Ship’s Night Without a Home Campaign” in an effort to collect goods for the Franklin County Shelter in Chambersburg.

Students bond, raise awareness over crafts

Students gathered in McFeely’s Café on Tuesday night to raise awareness and donate items for Distributing Dignity, as well as make a variety of crafts such as ornaments, paintings and sock snowmen.

Professor Spotlight - Trever Famulare director of bands

If you are looking for someone who is passionate about the bands of Shippensburg University, take a trip to the second floor of the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center where you will find director of bands Trever Famulare, who completed his 200th performance with the Red Raider marching band last month.

Tulip planted for new life

Shippensburg University community members met around the Janie Fecker Garden outside Lackhove Hall  on Tuesday for SU’s annual Tulip Planting Ceremony to remember those who have been victims of domestic violence.

The Slate adopts, clean highway

Annual Crab Fest first of many cultural events

A crowd of students, alumni, faculty, and friends of Shippensburg University enjoyed Maryland-style crabs in the hockey rink earlier this month in celebration of Crab Fest, an annual event hosted by the African American Organization (Afro-Am).
