Field hockey shines late to win PSACs, moves to NCAA semifinals

  Shippensburg University’s No. 1 nationally ranked field hockey team prevailed in postseason play the past two weeks, defeating Bloomsburg in Nov. 8’s Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) semifinal 2-1 in overtime, before picking up a 1-0 overtime win against East Stroudsburg on Nov. 10 to win the PSAC championship. They then beat Limestone 3-2 on Saturday to earn a spot in the NCAA semifinals.

Wrestling finds momentum with trio of road wins

 The Shippensburg University men’s wrestling team traveled to St. Vincent for a dual meet on Tuesday and to Waynesburg for matches against Mount Union, Waynesburg and Lycoming on Sunday. The Raiders season record moved to 3-2.

Volleyball falls 3-0 at Pitt-Johnstown, clinches pair of home wins

 After falling on the road to Pitt-Johnstown on Tuesday, Shippensburg University’s volleyball team rallied at home to defeat Kutztown 4-1 and East Stroudsburg 3-0 in two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchups on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Field hockey splits week, falls to IUP

  Shippensburg University’s No. 1 nationally ranked field hockey team split a pair of matches this past week defeating Frostburg State 4-1 on Tuesday before falling in overtime to IUP 1-0 on Wednesday.  The Raiders finished undefeated in conference play at 9-0 but suffered their first loss of the season to move to 16-1 overall.

Swimming swept by Clarion on senior night

 Shippensburg University’s swimming teams lost at home against Clarion on Friday evening, with the men’s team losing 115-70 and the women by a score of 136-50. The results move each team to 3-4 on the season.

Women’s soccer secures two draws to keep PSAC playoff hopes alive

  Shippensburg University’s women’s soccer team fought to consecutive draws last week, keeping its postseason hopes alive in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division.  The Raiders first held Millersville to a 1-1 tie on Wednesday, due to a last-minute free-kick goal, and followed it up with a 2-2 comeback against East Stroudsburg last Saturday.

Titles defended – Quinan, men´s cross country triumph at PSACs; women celebrate second place

  Garrett Quinan defended his individual title in the 8K and led Shippensburg University’s men’s cross-country team to a title defense at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Saturday that were hosted in Kutztown.  The women’s team delivered a strong runner-up finish in the championship, led by freshman Ella Hartel, with a seventh-place finish in the individual 6K.
