 Shippensburg University’s women’s soccer team took on Millersville University Wednesday afternoon at David See Field but fell short to the Marauders in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match up.

Men’s soccer ties ESU, falls to Shepherd

Shippensburg University’s men’s soccer team hosted two games this week. The Raiders fell to Shepherd University 2-1 on Wednesday and tied East Stroudsburg University 1-1 on Saturday afternoon, with both matches being Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchups.

Field hockey earns pair of home wins

  Shippensburg University’s field hockey team picked up two home wins this past week, with the No. 2-ranked Raiders beating No. 8 Millersville 1-0 on Tuesday before picking up a nonconference victory over Frostburg State 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Women’s tennis wears pink in support of Coach Sheila Bush

 It was an emotional day for Raider athletics during the Shippensburg University versus Messiah women’s tennis match Wednesday. Players and spectators suited up in all pink to show support for head coach Sheila Bush as she coached her final game before beginning cancer treatment.

Volleyball Picks Up Two Straight-Set Wins

 Shippensburg University’s volleyball team had a stellar week, picking up wins in both the home opener on Tuesday against Jefferson University and the conference opener at Shepherd University on Friday. Junior Emily Gardner was at the forefront of both victories, getting double-digit kills in each match.

Football’s strong start does not last in loss to IUP

 Shippensburg football got out to a 7-0 lead on their first drive on the road against IUP this past Saturday but didn’t score again until the 4th quarter in a 49-14 loss. The Raiders’ defense held quite strong early in the contest, only trailing 14-7 at the half, but a 21-point 3rd quarter from the Crimson Hawks put the game out of reach.

Women´s tennis drops season-opening weekend

 The Shippensburg University women´s tennis team opened its season with two losses against Chestnut Hill, 7-0, and California (Pa.), 6-1, in two non-conference matchups on Friday and Saturday.

Men´s soccer wins shortened match over Jefferson, 1-0

 Shippensburg University´s men´s soccer team won a lightning-shortened match against Thomas Jefferson University at home on Saturday afternoon 1-0. The contest at David See Field was called for lightning in the 74th minute.

ShipRec Offers Club and Intramural Sports for Fall Semester

  ShipRec will be hosting a variety of club and intramural sports available to all students, athletes or not, for the fall semester. Club sports compete against clubs from other colleges, while intramural sports are mainly just against fellow Shippensburg students.

Field hockey plans to finish the job after coming close in 2022

Many would describe the Raiders’ 2022 field hockey season as phenomenal. But for a team that had won four of the past five national championships, losing to East Stroudsburg in the title game was a disappointment.  This year’s main goal is simple: go all the way.
