Shippensburg inducts athletics Hall of Fame class of 2024

  Shippensburg University hosted its 39th annual Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 18, adding six new members to the illustrious group.  The inductees were Jill Edwards Restino ’14, Herman Kirkland ’13, Lee McClintock ’05, Amy Sokalski ’85, Ashley Watt Cush ’07 and Sidney L. Wells Jr. ’60.

Volleyball shines on the road

  Shippensburg University’s volleyball team picked up three road wins this week against Jefferson, Bloomsburg and Lock Haven.   SU’s overall record moves to 11-9 and their conference record moves to 6-1.

Josiah Leonard shows you can do it all

Josiah Leonard, the starting running back for Shippensburg University´s football team, balances being a member of the Army ROTC program and the football team. He is one of a few students that attempt to combine both programs for their college experience. By successfully being a part of both programs, Leonard wants to prove to people that it can be done.

Football perseveres for comeback victory on the road

 Shippensburg University’s football team came back from a 21-7 deficit in the second quarter to defeat Millersville 35-27 on Saturday. It was the first win in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play for the Raiders, moving their record on the season to 2-4.

Field hockey takes down pair of ranked opponents

 Shippensburg University’s No. 1 nationally ranked field hockey team earned a pair of key road victories this week, defeating No. 5 West Chester 3-1 on Wednesday before beating No. 9 Mansfield, 6-1, on Saturday. The results moved the Raiders to 11-0 for the season, including 4-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play.

Field hockey wins pair of games, moves to 9-0

 Shippensburg University’s No. 1 nationally ranked field hockey team continued its undefeated start to the season this week, beating Millersville 1-0 on Wednesday before taking down Maryville 5-0 at home Saturday. The results will lead to the Raiders keeping their No. 1 ranking for the next week.

Women’s soccer secures second win and tie of the season

  Coming off its first win at the end of September, Shippensburg University’s women’s soccer team pushed to improve its record.  The team won one match on Wednesday against the Lock Haven Bald Eagles and tied another with the East Stroudsburg Warriors on Saturday. The Raiders are currently seventh in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East standings with a 2-5-2 record.

Swimming sweeps Kutztown to start season

 Shippensburg University’s swimming teams picked up a pair of victories over Kutztown in a dual meet on Wednesday evening, with the men’s team winning 129-74 while the women eked out a 131-130 win.

SU football shut out at home by Shepherd, 38-0

 Shippensburg University’s football team fell 38-0 against Shepherd at Seth Grove Stadium, dropping to 1-3. The Rams used big plays to control the game, with four of their five touchdowns being at least 31 yards.

Field hockey shines in pair of convincing wins

 Shippensburg University’s No. 2 nationally ranked field hockey team moved to 6-0 on the season, beating No. 1 Kutztown, the defending NCAA Division II champions, 2-0 on Wednesday before pummeling Slippery Rock 10-1 on Saturday.
