Transgender people kept out of bathrooms

Voters in Houston, Texas struck down a city law on Nov. 3 that protected LGBT people and others from discrimination. The repeal effort was headed by conservatives who alleged that transgender women were not real women and were, in fact, straight men that were using the law in order to go into bathrooms and peek at girls.


APB serves up soup, sandwiches for students stranded by budget impasse

As part of an effort to combat the effects of the state budget impasse, Shippensburg University’s Activities Program Board (APB) held a dinner and movie night in the Ceddia Union Building on Thursday. Students were invited out for a free meal and a night of entertainment to take their mind off of their financial problems.


SU hosts first home fencing meet

Henderson Gymnasium rang with the clash of steel on steel as the Shippensburg University Fencing Club hosted West Chester University and Kutztown University in the club’s first-ever home tri-meet. A total of 36 fencers in six groups duked it out across the six strips laid out on the gymnasium floor. The first part of the match consisted of round-robin preliminaries, with each group of fencers being assigned to a lane and then conducting bouts against each other, with each bout going to five points.

‘Arrested Development’ is back for one more season

Apparently, streaming giant, Netflix, has plans to air a new Netflix-exclusive season of “Arrested Development.” Executive Producer Brian Grazer brought up Netflix’s plan during an interview with ESPN’s Bill Simmons at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.
